Frequently Asked Questions
Is your jewelry really handmade?
Yes—every piece is handmade by me. From cutting and soldering to polishing and setting stones, I’m hands-on through the entire process. No mass production and no two pieces are ever exactly the same. Slight variation in each piece is normal and a testament to the handcrafted nature of my pieces.
What materials do you work with?
I work primarily with .925 sterling silver and natural stones. Copper and Brass are often featured in my pieces, but are on parts of the jewelry that will not come into contact with skin, so no worries about irritation or discoloration! I choose materials that are meant to last and be worn for year, not just a season. Variations in stone and silver are part of what make each piece special.
Where is your jewelry made?
Everything is handmade by me in my home studio in north Texas. Supporting small-batch, American-made craftsmanship is incredibly important to me, and I’m proud to contribute to the local economy.
How long will my order take to ship?
Because each piece is handmade, turnaround times can vary. Most ready-to-ship and signature pieces will go out within 7-10 business days. Made-to-order or custom work may take a bit longer and those timelines will always be noted in the listing. If you are in a hurry, please reach out BEFORE you order so that I can be aware and work within your time constraints!
Do you offer custom or personalized pieces?
I have a collection of pieces that can be customized with your name, brand or similar word. I do offer limited truly custom work when my schedule allows. If you have an idea, a special stone, or something meaningful in mind, feel free to reach out before ordering so we can talk through the details and timing.
Do you use real turquoise?
Yes. I use genuine turquoise sourced largely from american mines and american lapidary artists. Many turquoise stones are stabilized to strengthen the stone and make it suitable for everyday wear. Stabilization helps protect the stone but does not alter its natural color. I do not use dyed turquoise, imitation turquoise or dyed howlite.
What does “stabilized turquoise” mean?
Turquoise is naturally a softer stone. Stabilization is a process that strengthens the stone so it can be worn and enjoyed without easily cracking or crumbling. This process preserves the stone’s natural look while improving durability. It doesn’t mean the stone is fake or low quality.
Is turquoise suitable for everyday wear?
Turquoise can absolutely be worn often, but it’s best treated with care. While stabilized turquoise is more durable, it’s still a natural stone. I recommend removing turquoise jewelry during heavy work or activities to keep it looking its best.
How should I care for my sterling silver jewelry?
Sterling silver does naturally tarnish over time, especially if it’s not worn often. To keep your piece looking its best:
- Store it in a dry place
- Avoid chemicals and lotions in direct contact with your jewelry, but especially the stone.
- Use a soft polishing cloth when needed
Honestly, wearing your jewelry regularly is one of the best ways to keep it bright. Should your jewelry become tarnished due to storage methods, exposure to chemicals (think pool chlorine!!) or time itself, it can easily be brought back to a high shine with a silver polishing cloth. For deep cleaning, you can always reach out to me for reconditioning or cleaning advice!
Will my jewelry look exactly like the photos?
Because everything is handmade, slight variations are normal and expected. I do my best to photograph each piece accurately, but your jewelry will always have its own personality, and that is part of why I love handmade items! Additional pictures are always available by request :)
What if my item arrives damaged?
If something arrives damaged, please contact me within 48 hours of delivery and include photos of the piece and the packaging. I’ll take care of it and make things right. All shipments are insured for the value of the items!
Do you accept returns or exchanges?
Return eligibility depends on the piece. Because many items are handmade or made to order, some sales are final—especially custom work. Please review the return policy before purchasing, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re unsure.
